
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 to 2020. [8][99 Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. The team made her debut in professional football and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest athlete in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year, Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments and also won the Silver Boot in 2019.
